The Swiss airline Edelweiss, leading tours in that European country, will incorporate an additional direct flight to Havana from April 2015, according to the Ministry of Tourism (Tourism) of Cuba.
The operation will have two flights per week, will allow growth in visitor arrivals from Switzerland and Europe to Havana, patrimonial city of great cultural and historical attractions and the main gateway to other destinations on the island.
According to the statement issued today, the decision of the company associated with Swiss International Air Lines, is part of a series of amendments made by the company in its infrastructure and travel itineraries. The Tourism Ministry also said in June that the company began to make structural repairs on their cabins, including fully reclining seats, a new entertainment system with 16-inch touch screens and other amenities that will make the flight successful experiences.
From the city of Zurich, Edelweiss (name of the national flower of Switzerland) distributes a figure in excess of 1.3 million passengers in the year to more than 40 countries, and provides multi-destination options under the slogan Flying the Swiss way to refer to its reliability, punctuality and cordiality.
The National Office of Information and Statistics reports that from January to August 2014 arrived at the Island 15 000 296 Swiss, representing 10.6 percent growth over the same period last year.
