Maria Isabel Rodriguez, who was rector of the University of El Salvador and Minister of Health of this country, received special teaching rank of Doctor Honoris Causa of the University of Medical Sciences of Havana.
By giving recognition, Jorge González Pérez, president of the house of higher learning, said the winner not only reached achievements in scientific terms but also in the social approach that always had in his mind.
He said that was integrated from the beginning to the struggles of the student movement, of which he was leader of the General Association of Salvadoran College Students.
Maria Isabel Rodriguez completed his medical studies in 1948, he worked in Mexico and the United States, where he shared with leading figures in the field of cardiology and physiological science, but always returned to his native country, says a report sent to Prensa Latina by medical University of Havana.
It is a recognized consultant PAHO / WHO with more than one hundred publications in Spanish and English on science, health and education in El Salvador, he is recognized as one of the leading figures in the development of university transformations in that country and outside its borders with impact across the continent.
