Dr. Felix Baez recovered.

The Cuban doctor Felix Baez, who contracted Ebola in Sierra Leone, is restored apace and is about to leave the University Hospital of Geneva (HUG), Dr. Jorge Perez said today.

In an interview with Prensa Latina, the director of the Institute of Tropical Medicine Pedro Kouri (IPK) said Baez is out of danger, his mood is very good and has no desire to, once recovered in Cuba, back to the African country to continue saving lives there.
Baez, belonging to Henry Reeve contingent was sent to Geneva last November 20 on a proposal from the World Health Organization (WHO).

The patient, who came with a fairly large feverish and confusional state, was admitted to the intensive care and isolation that are prepared in a wing of HUG Perez said.

Immediately he began to receive intravenous treatments, hydration due, the balance hidromineral he needed and from 48 hours to be here, his improvement was seeing every day, he said.

"I have not failed to see it since I'm here," said the director of the IPK and added that since no one can say that is a relationship between patient and physician, but from colleagues, friends and countrymen.

The teacher said that if all goes as usual, Baez could get high early because the first analyzes are giving negative and hepatic and haematological screening are normal enzymes.

He also thanked Baez messages sent by his family, his fellow Sierra Leone and the Cuban people.

The researcher also praised the human and revolutionary quality Baez, who has repeatedly expressed interest in continuing the confrontation with Ebola in Africa.
