Cuban involved in cycling World Cup in London

Cuban Lisandra Guerra and Marlies Mejias stop participating in the II World Cup Track Cycling, scheduled from Friday to Sunday in London, looking for points for Olympic and world rankings.

"Our goal at this stage of the Cup is to obtain the best possible result against the world's best and keep adding points for the world ranking and the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro-2016," he told Radio Habana Cuba chief chair of the national team of cycling, Jorge Luis Baez.
Baez said that both riders will compete in their predilectas- evidence Lisandra speed and Marlies in ómnium- and be acompadas preparer Florencio Perez.

Both cyclists just shine in the newly completed Central American and Caribbean Games in Veracruz, Mexico, where nine titles were distributed and taken to the island to a first surprise first by nations ahead of Colombia and Venezuela.

Mejias became the queen of cycling at the Games, winning five gold medals in speed and path, something unprecedented in the history of the sport.

The new jewel of Cuban cycling triumphed in Veracruz in the Omnium, team sprint, route, 3,000 individual pursuit and persecution equipment- 4,000, while Guerra won four oros- speed, keirin, team sprint and 500m time trial.

The two stars of the Cuban cycling were also medalists at the first stop of the World Cup, held in November in Guadalajara, Mexico. Mejias won silver and bronze in the omnium War in speed.
