Crean paper may be blank and reused

Recently, a team of researchers from the University of California, Riverside, USA, has created a kind of paper you can write several times, which partly solve both economic waste as organic which means using large amounts of ink and leaves published the digital Muyinteresante.com site.

In the study, published in the journal Nature Communications, detailing that this original paper may be blank for later use by simply heating the material, a process that can be performed up to 20 times with the same sheet.
Printing is achieved by placing the tinted paper (blue, red or green) on a plate on which is written a pattern text; then, ultraviolet light dye discolors all areas except the paper formed by images or text applies.

For reuse, the process is as simple as heating the substrate if it is done at 115 takes just 10 minutes-because heat causes an oxidation reaction with oxygen in the atmosphere and the material returns to its original color.

"The printed letters remain legible in high resolution at ambient conditions for about three days, enough for practical applications such as reading a newspaper while," said Yadong Yin Sync study leader.

The aim of the researchers is that this technology will become a sustainable alternative for the environment and for this, his next goal is to achieve that can be written and erased it 100 times and that the text remains visible over three days.
