ALBA presidents meet with future collaborators

An emotional moment in the days of the ALBA-TCP Summit held in Havana, was the meeting between the Heads of State and Government, heads of delegations and personalities who attended the Special Summit of ALBA-TCP Ebola, partners with the Cuban medical brigades Liberia and Guinea Conakry to depart Tuesday to those nations hit by the epidemic.
At the Institute of Tropical Medicine Pedro Kouri (IPK), flagship of the Cuban scientific development institution, the Health Minister Roberto Morales Ojeda, described as an exceptional opportunity the possibility of making this event a few hours before the departure ofthe brigades.

As announced, this new group is comprised of 91 employees, 53 bound for Liberia and Guinea Conakry 38. They have over 15 years of professional experience, 39 of them are doctors, 48 nurses, and 67% have less than fifty years.

Raul shared judgments about the creation of the Latin American School of Me-dicine; the devastating hurricane like Mitch, George and Katrina and the immediate response of Cuba step; and the historic mission in Pakistan after the earthquake, among others. These heroic moments experienced by our doctors in most of the world could also be seen in a documentary by journalist Gladys Rubio.

Finally, the Cuban Minister of Health said the Summit have concluded precisely the Central Unit for Medical Cooperation has a special meaning.
